When you request a quote: the service you need, the type of job, your description, your ZIP code, when you need it, your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email, plus a photo if you add one and the pros you chose.

When you use the contact form: your name, email, phone number if given, the topic and your message.

To match your request with up to three local pros who serve your area, and to answer your messages.

The guide's team, and the pros matched to your quote request. We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it with anyone else.

Requests and messages reach our team by email. Emails sent from this site may track opens and clicks, which lets us confirm that a request came through.

Your checklist progress is saved only in your own browser, and your shortlist of pros lasts only until you close the tab. Neither is sent to us. The site counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies.

Home profiles and business listings live in the guide's own app, which has its own sign-in. Anything you store there, such as warranties and receipts, is used only to run your profile.

We keep quote requests and messages for 24 months, then delete them.
